QUINNIPIAC BUSINESS & EDUCATION FOUNDATION
The foundation of the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce

Founded in 2003, the Quinnipiac Business and Education Foundation is a 501c3 organization, whose mission is to: "provide programs which further knowledge, understanding and opportunities for present and future employees in order to grow our employment and economic opportunities and to insure the future health of our communities". The QBEF allows our chamber to expand its programs and benefits and to make them available to a large part of our community and population.

Programs that have already been presented through the foundation include:
  • a state sponsored, public/private pilot program for Progressive (Lean) Manufacturing;
  • a Discovery Grant Program from the Graustein Foundation which targets pre-school and early education issues;
  • our QUEST Program*, the forerunner of the QBEF, which has distributed dozens of scholarships and Mini-Grants to students and teachers in our communities.
  • Career Connection Online - interactive, online connection between the business community & the education system
  • North Haven Senior Center Computer Lab
  • Mentoring Program - ongoing for 15 years, it pairs businesspeople and high school students with elementary school children - one of our most successful and impactive activities, it makes a huge difference in the lives of these students and is presently in danger of being terminated after the 2009 school year - we desperately need funds to allow this to continue - please click below to help us !

We thank the QUEST Charter Members: CIGNA Healthcare of Connecticut; CYTEC Industries; Ogden Projects of Wallingford, L.P.; Ulbrich Stainless Steels; Wal-Mart Corporation and Webster Bank - who all generously donated funds to develop the original QUEST program.
 *QUEST is a recipient of the Silver Connecticut Innovation Prize CT Quality Improvement Award
